While interning with the Center for Core Values in 2016-17, I helped transfer and create content for two of the sites- the Center for Global Education site and the Center for Sustainability site.
These sites were rather different.
The Global Education site required moving a bunch of information and pictures over from the previous site for Study Abroad. It was also my job to ensure that traffic would go towards the new site rather than the old one. That took some work as we were not allowed to remove the old site and the links continued to show up in the internal search feature of Maryville’s website.
The Sustainability site was a lot of building the page from scratch. Previously, Sustainability used the blog feature for their site to provide people with up-to-date information on their events and the water fountain total water bottles saved count. However, that moved to their facebook page and left the site without much content. I helped fill the page with all the information.
These websites were made as a part of the blogs section of the Maryville website that is powered by WordPress. While I did not have access to anything to deal with the design, I did everything within my power to make sure the pages were comprehensive and easy to navigate.
On the Global Education site, this meant making sure that viewers could backtrack their way to the Study Abroad main page and be able to see necessary information amongst the different pages with a sidebar that I created within the WordPress pages.

This website will not be used much longer as they are pushing to make an official site that is within the Maryville website. It should be up within the next few months.
The Sustainability site was primarily built from scratch with imagery that was once housed within the blog posts that used to populate the sustainability page.
