Hello! My name is Natalie King, a 2018 graduate of Maryville University with a B.A. in Strategic Communications and Social Media and a minor in Photography.
Through four years of school, I was a Maryville University swimmer. For three of my years, I was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national honor organization, I was Vice President of Marketing for a year and then President for my final year.
I spent three years working at Perryville Parks and Recreation as a Digital Media Coordinator. It is a job that I love. During this time, I changed hats pretty fast as a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, lifeguard and swim coach. Things move pretty fast, but I am perfectly capable of riding the tides.
My previous job was as the Communications – Web Specialist with the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. It was a lot of fun and good work. During the three years I worked there, I developed a passion for accessibility and User Experience and User Interaction (UX/UI).
I am a lifelong learner who is always eager to learn new skills.
When I get a chance to breathe, I spend a lot of time reading and working on various projects that involve a lot of writing. A lot of these things are currently on the back burner but I hope to pick them back up.
I love going outside and surrounding myself with nature, if only to take some good photos. Being active is still a big part of my life, even if video games call my name occasionally.
I pride myself on being a strategic thinker who juggles many plates at once. My writing skills are good, but there is always room for improvement.
